The conference will take place at Anew Hotel Hluhluwe & Safaris, which is a short 15 minute drive away from the world-class Hluhluwe-iMfolozi game park, which hosts all of the big cats and the endangered African wild dog.  The park pioneered rhino conservation efforts and is now home to about 10% of the world’s rhino population.  The weather on the east coast of South Africa is moderated by the Indian Ocean, and the daily average highs and lows in January are 30°C (86°F) and 26°C (68°F), respectively.

The conference venue itself offers game drives, a swimming pool, and other activities.  Meals are available on-site.  Other sights in the broader area include several other game parks, snorkelling and scuba diving at Sodwana Bay (home to 1200 fish species, including coelecanths), river and ocean cruises at St. Lucia (a UNESCO world heritage site), a wild cat rehabilitation centre at Emdoneni Lodge, and Zulu craft and cultural activities.
